How the web is built - Static html vs the CMS
The folks over at W3Techs.com have released an interesting study on the distribution of web development styles.
A whopping 76% of websites are still not using a popular CMS. This doesn't necessarily mean that they are static sites... many could be dynamic - using PHP or another tool... but only 24% are using a recognizable content management system like Joomla or WordPress.

WordPress, as expected, has a 55% market share of CMS driven sites. Joomla is 2nd with 11% and Drupal is third with 6%.
Here at NavigateTomorrow, we work with the top three... and we've only built four sites that don't use a CMS in the past 4 years. (This being more a function of our clientele's needs than one being better than the other).
